Have a passion for the arts? Consider an internship at Singapore Art Museum (SAM)!

 

SAM is the first fully dedicated visual arts museum in Singapore and has one of the world’s most important collections of contemporary art by artists from Singapore, Southeast Asia and Asia. We are currently housed in warehouse spaces in the Tanjong Pagar Distripark, which has wonderful spaces to exhibit large-scale contemporary artworks. Come check us out if not already!

 

Interns will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into the collaborative efforts among various departments when working on exhibitions/ programmes. You may potentially participate in behind-the-scenes work as well. This internship promises to enrich your understanding of the arts scene and ignite your interest, potentially paving the way for a career in the arts!

 

As a SAM intern, you can look forward to being assigned to one of the following divisions/departments, subject to role availability and department needs:

 

  • 1. Access and Programmes:
  • 2. Marketing Communications: Understand social media content strategy and create engaging digital content to fulfil marketing objectives. Be involved in content angles and approaches to drive awareness and visitation for our exhibitions and programmes.
  • 3. Production Management: Be involved with the preparation of upcoming exhibitions, planning of logistics, installation, post-review and archiving of recently ended exhibtions/ projects.

 

In addition, you will also have the opportunity to participate in at least one programme/ activity by another Visual Arts Cluster (VAC) institution.

 

Who we're looking for:

  • Students who can begin your internship in the following months are welcome to apply
    • 1st intake: May or June – Application opens every January/ February
    • 2nd intake: August or September – Application opens every April/ May
  • Can commit for a period of 2 to 6 months
  • Have a positive mindset, versatile and enjoy picking up new skills
  • Keen interest in the Arts and Culture industry
  • Must be a full-time matriculated student with a local or foreign educational institution
  • Must be at least 18 years and above
