Maria Taniguchi: Afterimage

Maria Taniguchi: Afterimage is the first monographic exhibition of the acclaimed artist presented by a Singaporean institution. Anchored by Taniguchi’s ongoing series of “brick paintings,” where subtle shifts in colour and scale accumulate over time, the exhibition brings forward the recurring concerns that run through her wider practice, including repetition, time and labour. Alongside these towering canvases, Afterimage presents a site-specific iteration of Taniguchi's Runaways sculptures and three video works made between 2010 and 2026, which function as studies that further illuminate her iterative process.
