Artist Residency || 01 Apr to 30 Sep 2022
Sikarnt Skoolisariyaporn is interested in the politics of memory and re-imagination of history. While in residence, she plans to expand upon her 2019 film, 'And That Ocean Too Is A Fiction' which imagines impossible artworks within a fictional exhibition, "How to Destroy Contemporary Art". The film indirectly articulates on practices of colonisation embedded within contemporary art museums and re-imagines a museum of absence that looks back at its own ruin. Skoolisariyaporn’s practice oscillates between forgetting and remembering, where fiction plays an important role in exploring the distance between the two.
