Our programmes aim to remove barriers of inaccessibility to the arts. These includes mental and physical disabilities, and the lack of facilitation.

We partner with other non-profit organisations and schools to offer free or reduced-cost opportunities to underserved communities with the vision that anyone can engage with the arts.

Our exhibitions present art of our times through a Southeast Asian lens. Through our exhibitions we hope to encourage dialogue on contemporary issues that may be overlooked.

We aim to inspire humane and sustainable futures through transformative, thought-provoking everyday encounters with art of our times.

Our commissions enable local and regional artists to advance their practice and push boundaries.

SAM also acquires works that are salient to the national and contemporary dialogue and cares for the works through meticulous preservation – ensuring access for future generations to come.

Designed to engage both the art community and the public at large, SAM Residencies actively involves local communities through a diverse line up of resident-organised activities such as open studio visits, talks, and workshops.

For the art community, it serves as an incubator for exploring new approaches in artistic and curatorial practices.
