KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the Museum’s Education, Access and Programmes department in initiating and implementing programmes to encourage interest in and engagement with contemporary art
- Develop relevant strategies and methods for the museum’s spectrum of visitors and publics, across ages and backgrounds, as well as to attract new museum audiences
- Work closely with the Museum’s departments to execute programmes that complement SAM’s contemporary art exhibitions
- Identify and develop partnerships with other cultural, non-profit and educational collaborators
- Inspire, mentor and manage the department in the planning and execution of programmes, as well as professional development
- Oversee and supervise the Museum’s volunteer and docent programme
- Oversee and supervise projects, processes and procedures under his/her responsibility
- Prepare regular and ad hoc reports and presentations on education, access and public programmes developments for senior management and board
- Handle ad hoc assignments as and when required
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Post-Graduate Degree in arts programming and education or related field
- At least 8 years of relevant work experience in arts programming and education
- Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary art aesthetics and practices
- Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and motivate colleagues
- Able to work independently
- Fluency in English. Additional language abilities would be ideal
- Good project management and organisational skills
- Good at multi-tasking and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
