Head, Education, Access and Programmes

Full-time Position

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Lead the Museum’s Education, Access and Programmes department in initiating and implementing programmes to encourage interest in and engagement with contemporary art
    • Develop relevant strategies and methods for the museum’s spectrum of visitors and publics, across ages and backgrounds, as well as to attract new museum audiences
    • Work closely with the Museum’s departments to execute programmes that complement SAM’s contemporary art exhibitions
    • Identify and develop partnerships with other cultural, non-profit and educational collaborators
    • Inspire, mentor and manage the department in the planning and execution of programmes, as well as professional development
    • Oversee and supervise the Museum’s volunteer and docent programme
    • Oversee and supervise projects, processes and procedures under his/her responsibility
    • Prepare regular and ad hoc reports and presentations on education, access and public programmes developments for senior management and board
    • Handle ad hoc assignments as and when required

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • Post-Graduate Degree in arts programming and education or related field
    • At least 8 years of relevant work experience in arts programming and education
    • Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary art aesthetics and practices
    • Excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to lead and motivate colleagues
    • Able to work independently
    • Fluency in English. Additional language abilities would be ideal
    • Good project management and organisational skills
    • Good at multi-tasking and able to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays
